Merged two features: FN-3334 introduces a new `autoReloadOnVersionChange` setting with a toggle in the Settings modal, version-check logic in the dashboard, and corresponding tests; FN-3335 fixes worktree project root resolution in `createFnAgent` and the skill resolver, with tests for both paths. Merges FN-3008 to add a "fallback-used" notification system: the engine now emits events when AI model fallbacks are triggered, dispatches notifications via ntfy/webhook providers, surfaces a session banner in the dashboard, and exposes a settings toggle to enable or disable these alerts.

Merged FN-3076 introducing an auto completion-doc mode that automates task completion documentation. The feature adds a new setting to the settings schema and types, surfaces it in the dashboard Settings UI, provides triage-stage guidance to suggest completion documentation, and is documented in the

Defaults to true so existing behaviour (dashboard probes PATH for `fn` /
`fusion` and surfaces install / version-mismatch states) is unchanged.
When the user toggles it off in Settings → General → CLI Binary:
- `GET /system/fn-binary/status` short-circuits before `detectFnBinary()`
and returns `state: "skipped"`. No `<bin> --version` subprocess is
spawned at all, so an outdated globally-installed CLI cannot run as a
side effect of opening the dashboard.
- The install banner is hidden when `state` is `"skipped"`.
- `POST /system/fn-binary/install` rejects with HTTP 409 since install
is the user action that the status check informs.
- The Settings UI gains a checkbox under the existing CLI binary panel.

Replace bare `feat(FN-XXXX): merge fusion/fn-XXXX` subjects with an
AI-generated summary describing what landed (e.g. `feat(FN-XXXX): add
webhook handler`). Calls the existing `summarizeCommitSubject` lane
alongside the body summarizer; falls back to `merge <branch>` when the
summarizer is disabled, unavailable, or returns nothing.
Default for `useAiMergeCommitSummary` flips to true so existing
projects without an explicit override pick up the new behavior. The
Settings UI already exposes the toggle.

In PR-mode, processPullRequestMergeTask called gh pr create --head
fusion/<task-id> without ever pushing the branch to origin. PR creation
failed and the task stalled in in-review — and combined with the
recover-mergeable-review sweep bug, the stalled task got force-merged
locally instead. Push the branch via git push -u origin <branch>
immediately before createPr (skipped when an existing PR already covers
the branch).
Also remove the dead autoCreatePr setting: defined as a default in the
schema and Settings type but never read anywhere.

The single "smart" strategy is now two flavors with the new default flipped
to prefer-main. Both share a pre-cascade `git fetch origin <currentBranch>`
+ best-effort fast-forward so a freshly-pushed sibling commit doesn't get
clobbered when the fallback resolves a conflict against a stale base.
- "smart-prefer-main" (new default): -X ours fallback. Protects just-merged
sibling work from being regressed by a concurrent task branch.
- "smart-prefer-branch": -X theirs fallback. Equivalent to legacy "smart".
Legacy "smart" / "prefer-main" enum values are accepted and normalized via
`normalizeMergeConflictStrategy()` so existing settings.json files migrate
seamlessly. The fast-forward step gracefully degrades on fetch failure or
divergent local main (logs and continues).
Updates settings UI dropdown, test helpers, and adds 5 fetch+ff regression
tests + 7 normalize-helper tests. Lint cleanup of two empty catch blocks
in scripts/release.mjs.

On a fresh install useAuthOnboarding's effect ran at mount before the
setup wizard's 500ms auto-open timer fired. The one-shot ref locked,
and the resolved fetch could either stack model onboarding on top of
the wizard or never re-trigger after the wizard closed.
- Gate the trigger on projectId being set so the wizard owns the
bootstrap phase; the auth check only fires once a project exists.
- Re-check setupWizardOpen via a ref when the auth fetch resolves to
avoid stacking onboarding on top of a wizard opened mid-fetch.
- Release the one-shot in that suppressed branch so the effect retries
when the wizard closes.
Adds two regression tests: fresh-install handoff and mid-fetch wizard
suppression.

Two related executor fixes:
1. Spawned child agents previously bypassed the executor model lane hierarchy
and used settings.defaultProvider/defaultModelId directly, ignoring
project-level executionProvider/executionModelId from .fusion/config.json.
Resolve via resolveExecutorModelPair() so children honor the same
precedence as the parent executor.
2. Pre-merge workflow step AI calls now have a wall-clock timeout
(settings.workflowStepTimeoutMs, default 6 min) and fall back to the
configured validatorFallback / fallback model on timeout. The 20-min
stuck-detector kill loop was the only escape hatch when a provider's
streaming API hung mid-response, and the kill triggered a same-provider
retry — guaranteeing repeat hangs. The runner now races the prompt against
a timeout; on timeout it disposes the session, logs a clear entry, and
re-runs the step once with a distinct fallback provider/model. If neither
completes (or no fallback is configured), the step returns a normal
failure that flows into the existing handleWorkflowStepFailure retry path.

- Add project-level unavailable node policy default and runtime validation helper
- Add core unit coverage for unavailable node policy parsing and acceptance cases
- Guard Paperclip mint requests to include companyId only when available for type-safe payloads
- Document unavailable node policy in the settings reference
Update-check frequency (end-to-end)
- Add `updateCheckFrequency: "manual" | "on-startup" | "daily" | "weekly"`
to GlobalSettings (default: "daily").
- Backend `performUpdateCheck` honors the frequency: TTL = day/week,
`manual` returns cache or empty without hitting npm, `on-startup`
refreshes once per process lifetime then serves cache. `/refresh`
route forces network regardless.
- Settings → Updates surfaces a working `<select>` for the cadence,
disabled when auto-checks are off entirely.
- Tests: 4 new cases covering ttlForFrequency mapping, weekly window,
manual semantics, on-startup once-per-process behavior.
TUI update notice
- Read cached update result synchronously on TUI startup. When an
update is available, render a yellow notice line on the splash and
a colored ● next to the version in the status bar.
Settings modal header polish
- Add "Star on GitHub" pill (icon + Star + cached star count from the
GitHub API, 1h localStorage TTL) and "Help" button (opens project
Discussions). Both link to the Runfusion/Fusion repo.
- Star button auto-hides after the user clicks it (intent = star),
tracked in localStorage `fusion:github-star-clicked`.
- Settings → General gets a "Show Star on GitHub button" checkbox so
users can hide it preemptively. New global setting
`showGitHubStarButton: boolean` (default true) gates rendering.
More resizable modals
- Task Detail modal: 85vh default, resize: both, persisted via
useModalResizePersist (key `fusion:task-detail-modal-size`).
- Quick Chat FAB: full 8-direction resize (4 corners + 4 edges) via
pointer-event handlers; persisted to
`fusion:quick-chat-size-<projectId>`. Each handle has the right
cursor + role="separator" for accessibility.

TUI: vitest memory-guard threshold and on/off toggle now persist to
global settings (vitestAutoKillEnabled / vitestKillThresholdPct), so
they survive dashboard restarts. Stats panel shows the system-memory
used percentage next to used/free. Utilities panel exposes [+/-] to
adjust the threshold in 5% steps (50–99%).
Release: scripts/release.mjs auto-syncs a root CHANGELOG.md aggregated
from every packages/*/CHANGELOG.md, grouped by version with one
sub-block per package.
Versioning: all private @fusion/* packages joined the changesets fixed
group with the public cli + cli-alias and were aligned to 0.2.5, so
every release bumps every package and produces per-package CHANGELOG
entries that the aggregator picks up.

- Add ntfy base URL to global settings schema/types with persistence coverage and regression tests
- Extend dashboard settings API/routes and Settings modal UI to edit and save a custom ntfy server
- Update notifier runtime to use configured ntfy base URL when sending notifications
- Document the new setting and include a changeset for @runfusion/fusion
PluginStore's constructor treats its rootDir arg as a project root and
internally appends `.fusion` before opening the SQLite DB. Several CLI
call sites were passing the already-resolved `.fusion` directory,
producing a doubled `.fusion/.fusion/fusion.db` that the dashboard
process kept recreating on every project load.
Pass the project root instead so the DB lands in the canonical
`.fusion/fusion.db` alongside the rest of the project's state.

Adds a new worktree setting that fetches the configured remote and rebases
the task branch onto the latest default-branch tip before the merger attempts
to merge it back. Catches concurrent pushes from other collaborators or
fusion workers on other hosts before they surface as merge conflicts —
anything the rebase can't fast-forward flows into the existing smart/AI
resolve pipeline (attempts 1–3) rather than needing new handling.
- `settings.worktreeRebaseBeforeMerge` (bool, default true) — gates the step.
- `settings.worktreeRebaseRemote` (string, default "") — which remote to
fetch; empty falls back to git's configured remote for the default branch,
then to the sole remote if there's only one, then to "origin".
- Rebase runs inside the task's worktree; failure aborts and falls through
to the merge cascade. Rebase errors are warn-logged but never throw.
- Dashboard SettingsModal Worktrees section now has a toggle for the setting
plus a remote dropdown populated from `/api/git/remotes/detailed`. The
dropdown defaults to "Use git default" so no explicit selection is needed
on first configure.
Also aligns the Last/Next heartbeat spans on the agent list card — both now
share the `.agent-heartbeat-last, .agent-heartbeat-next, .agent-heartbeat-saving`
font-size rule with a consistent line-height and inline-flex alignment so
the labels don't drift vertically when they share a row.

- Add global settings schema/types fields for persisted dashboard session state (selected project and node)
- Refactor NodeContext and current-project hooks to read/write project and node selection via global settings instead of project-local state
- Update App wiring to use the new selection flow across dashboard startup and switching behavior
- Add and expand dashboard tests for NodeContext, useCurrentProject, and view-state persistence behavior
When the engine restarts mid-step, an in-progress step may have already
passed plan + code review but not yet been flipped to done by the agent's
next task_update call. Previously, the next executor pass re-entered the
step and replayed both reviews — measured at 5-20 min of pure waste per
restart (observed in FN-2215 Step 1 and FN-2207 Step 6).
recoverApprovedStepsOnResume scans the task log for any in-progress step
whose most recent "code review Step N: APPROVE" entry is newer than its
most recent "Step N → pending" transition, and marks those steps done
before execute() runs. Safely skips steps that were reset after approval
(e.g. by a workflow revision) or only received REVISE verdicts.
Called from both the engine-restart path (resumeOrphaned) and the
unpause path, matching the two places the task log shows as vulnerable
to this race.

- Implement post-merge remote sync in the merger with pull --rebase, auto/AI conflict resolution, and one non-fast-forward retry before push
- Expose push-after-merge controls in Settings modal with conditional Push Remote input and coverage for desktop/mobile save flows
- Document the new settings in the settings reference and stabilize CLI cross-build help test timeout
- Add heartbeatIntervalMultiplier to shared settings schema/types with settings parity coverage
- Apply heartbeat multiplier in engine scheduling logic while preserving explicit per-agent interval behavior
- Add Settings modal and Agents view controls for heartbeat multiplier and per-agent interval overrides, including new styling
- Expand dashboard and engine test coverage for multiplier/heartbeat controls and document the new setting
Adds a SelfHealingManager scan that finds tasks parked in in-review with
a failed pre-merge workflow step and no active session, and sends them
back through the existing sendTaskBackForFix flow (PROMPT.md injection,
step reset, todo → in-progress). Bounded by a new maxPostReviewFixes
setting (default 1) and a per-task postReviewFixCount so a persistently-
failing verifier cannot ping-pong a task indefinitely.
