## Summary
Bundled plugins now persist shared runtime state in project-scoped
PostgreSQL tables instead of maintaining independent SQLite authority.
Reports, CLI Printing Press, Compound Engineering, Roadmap, Even
Realities, and WhatsApp all follow the same ownership and startup
contract as Fusion core.
## Design decisions
- Plugin schema hooks run through the host’s PostgreSQL owner and
enforce project isolation.
- The SDK exposes the host contract needed by bundled plugins without
importing engine internals.
- Legacy Roadmap ownership fixtures use the supported empty-owner
sentinel, preserving current composite primary/foreign keys while
exercising backfill behavior.
- The lockfile travels with the Even Realities PostgreSQL dependency so
packaged installs remain reproducible.
## Validation
- All six affected plugin builds pass.
- Affected plugin suites pass: 773 tests across Printing Press, Compound
Engineering, Even Realities, Reports, Roadmap, and WhatsApp.
- `pnpm test:gate` passes all 478 gate tests.
- This PR changes 40 files.
## Stack
- Depends on #2110 → #2109 → #2108.
- The documentation/release PR completes the stack.

## Summary
- Add `fusion-plugin-omp-runtime` so Fusion agents can run through
operator-installed **Oh My Pi (`omp`)** over the [Agent Client
Protocol](https://omp.sh/docs/acp) (`omp acp`).
- Wire staged/bundled install, Settings → Authentication card (enable +
binary path), model discovery (`omp models` → `omp-cli/*`), and MCP
eligibility for runtime id `omp`.
- Forward Fusion `systemPrompt` via ACP `session/new`
`_meta.systemPromptOverride`.
## How operators use it
1. Install/auth `omp` (credentials under `~/.omp`).
2. Enable **Oh My Pi — via omp ACP** in Settings → Authentication
(optional binary path).
3. Set agent **Runtime Source → OMP Runtime** (`runtimeHint: "omp"`), or
pick an `omp-cli/*` model when enabled.
## Known v1 gaps
- No Grok-style Fusion `fn_*` loopback tool bridge yet (operator MCP is
forwarded; in-process custom tools are not).
- Model is fixed at spawn (`omp --model … acp`); no mid-session Fusion
model switch.
## Test plan
- [x] `pnpm --filter @fusion-plugin-examples/omp-runtime test` (unit +
live ACP when `omp` is on PATH)
- [x] Auth routes: `POST /api/auth/omp-cli`, `GET
/api/providers/omp-cli/status`
- [x] Engine `runtimeSupportsMcp("omp")`
- [ ] Manual: enable card in dashboard, select OMP runtime on an agent,
run a short chat turn

## Summary
- add asynchronous PostgreSQL parity to research commands and engine
execution paths
- persist Roadmap, Compound Engineering sessions, and WhatsApp state in
PostgreSQL
- harden cancellation, concurrency, reconnect, replay-claim, and
detached-promise behavior
- bundle the PostgreSQL-backed integration implementations in the
published CLI
This is PR 2 of 2 and is intentionally stacked on #2088. It contains 44
changed files; merge #2088 first, then retarget this PR to `main` if
GitHub does not do so automatically.
## Verification
- `pnpm check:changesets --strict`
- `pnpm lint`
- `pnpm test:gate`: 463 tests passed
- Compound Engineering plugin: 299 tests passed
- Roadmap plugin: 144 tests passed
- WhatsApp plugin: 27 tests passed
- research CLI: 18 tests passed
- `pnpm verify:fast`: all scoped typechecks, builds, CLI build, and boot
smoke passed
## Post-Deploy Monitoring & Validation
- deploy only after #2088 and verify schema migration `0002` is present
- monitor research cancellation, automation claims, agent execution,
plugin schema initialization, and unhandled rejections
- validate Roadmap ownership, Compound Engineering session recovery, and
WhatsApp reconnect/replay deduplication
- compare per-project plugin and workflow counts after cutover
- restore the pre-deploy backup for data rollback; avoid an in-place
schema downgrade
# Migrate storage from SQLite to PostgreSQL — full dashboard cutover
Migrates Fusion's storage layer to the embedded PostgreSQL
`AsyncDataLayer` (the default backend) and **completes the
satellite-store + feature cutover** so every dashboard and Command
Center surface works in PG mode.
## Status — every surface works in embedded-PG mode
Verified live against a running embedded-Postgres dashboard (all
**200**, zero 5xx) and gate-tested (**23 files / 99 tests** on embedded
PG, plus engine-core 294 and ci-shape 63 in the blocking merge gate;
core/engine/cli/dashboard typecheck clean).
| Area | Surfaces | State |
|---|---|---|
| Satellite stores | workflows, todos, insights, research, missions,
goals, mailbox | ✅ |
| Views | artifacts, documents, evals | ✅ |
| Command Center | activity, productivity, team, tokens, tools,
**workflows**, **github**, **signals**, **plugin-activations**, **live**
(all 10) | ✅ |
| Run execution | insight generation, research run execution | ✅
(store-path; AI step needs a provider) |
| Live updates | SSE push for mission/research/insight events | ✅ |
| Workflow editing | create / update / delete / select (+ id counter) |
✅ |
| Engine | mission autopilot, incident-signal ingestion, regression
storm-guard, agent wake-on-message | ✅ |
| Core | tasks, agents, secrets, automations, memory, chat, usage, PRs,
git | ✅ |
## Approach
Each satellite store gets an `Async<Store>` wrapper exposing the sync
store's method names over the existing `async-*-store.ts` helpers;
`get<Store>Store()` returns a `Sync | Async` union; consumers `await`
(harmless on sync), and engine/CLI paths that can't convert use
`instanceof Sync` graceful fallback. Analytics aggregators branch on
`"ping" in dbOrLayer` to run schema-qualified raw SQL over `project.*`
(snake_case) in PG. Executors/orchestrators/autopilot are
await-converted to drive the union store; the async store wrappers
extend `EventEmitter` so SSE live-push fires in both backends.
Not-yet-ported capabilities degrade gracefully (never 500) and are
individually called out in commits.
## Sync with main
The branch is kept continuously merged with `main` (currently through
FN-7845, 2026-07-12); the earlier "final rebase deferred" note no longer
applies. Use **Create a merge commit** (or squash) to land it — GitHub's
rebase-merge cannot replay a merge-maintained branch.
## Residual Review Findings
Multi-agent code review of the PostgreSQL satellite-store ports (U1–U5)
applied 3 safe fixes (see `fix(review): apply autofix feedback`). The
following are **real but gated** — recorded here as follow-up work
rather than auto-applied. All are SQLite→PostgreSQL
**concurrency/atomicity regressions**: the sync stores were immune only
by SQLite's single-writer, single-threaded-handler execution; the async
ports open multi-await read-modify-write windows. **Reachability is low
today** because the execution engines that generate concurrent same-run
mutations (insight run executor, research orchestrator/dispatcher) are
`instanceof`-gated to sync mode in PG. No process-crash class survived
(all engine fallbacks correctly guard the sync store).
- **[P1] Research `appendResearchEvent` dual-write is non-atomic**
(`packages/core/src/async-research-store.ts`, corroborated: adversarial
+ reliability). The `research_run_events` insert (own transaction) and
the `run.events` jsonb update are separate writes — a crash between
them, or two concurrent appends, splits the table count from the jsonb
array. **Fix:** perform the seq-insert and the jsonb update in one
`layer.transactionImmediate`.
- **[P1] Research run terminal-reversion via stale full-row persist**
(`async-research-store.ts` `persistResearchRun`/`updateResearchStatus`).
Concurrent `PATCH /runs/:id/status` + `POST /runs/:id/events` can revert
a terminal run to `running` by overwriting the whole row, bypassing the
transition guard. **Fix:** scoped column `UPDATE`s with a `WHERE status
…` guard, or optimistic version column.
- **[P2] `updateResearchRun`/`updateInsightRun` read-then-write TOCTOU**
— concurrent PATCHes last-writer-wins on the lifecycle merge. **Fix:**
`SELECT … FOR UPDATE` / enclosing transaction.
- **[P2] `upsertRun`/`createRunOrThrowConflict` check-then-create race**
(`async-insight-store.ts`) — two callers can each create an "active"
run. **Fix:** partial unique index on `(projectId, trigger) WHERE status
IN ('pending','running')`.
- **[P3] `createResearchRetryRun` return-value divergence** — sync
returns the pre-update `queued` snapshot; async returns the reloaded
`retry_waiting` run (persisted state is identical). Pick one side for
cross-backend parity.
- **[P2/perf] Mission `getMissionWithHierarchy`/`getMissionHealth` N+1
fan-out** — O(milestones×slices) sequential round-trips hold one pool
slot per request; can starve the pool for large hierarchies. **Fix:**
batched/joined reads.
- **Testing gaps:** no PG-mode concurrency tests (interleaved
status/event mutations), no sync↔async parity assertion for the
lifecycle-error codes, and no mission status/health rollup parity test
vs the sync `MissionStore`.
~~Out of scope (deferred): AI run *execution* (insight/research) +
mission autopilot + live SSE mission events remain sync-gated/degraded
in PG mode.~~ **Since ported** — insight/research run execution, mission
autopilot, and SSE live push all run on the async layer now, which also
makes the concurrency findings above genuinely reachable; they remain
open follow-ups.

## Update — 2026-07-12: production-readiness hardening & live acceptance
Everything below landed on this branch since the description above was
written:
**Production blockers from review — fixed**
- `recoverStaleTransitionPending` ported to the async layer (backend
moves write + clear the crash-safe marker; startup/maintenance sweeps no
longer throw).
- Lost-update class fixed: `atomicWriteTaskJson`/`WithAudit` write
changed columns only (full-row upserts silently resurrected stale fields
across concurrent store instances — the "task stuck unplanned forever"
bug).
- First-boot **auto-migration**: booting the PG backend over a project
with a legacy `fusion.db` migrates it automatically (loud failure,
SQLite kept as backup), and the dashboard shows a one-time **"your data
was migrated" banner** with the backup paths and a Need-help Discord
link.
- `pg_dump`/`pg_restore` discovered from common install locations for
embedded-mode backups.
- The PG suite is part of the blocking merge gate (`test:pg-gate`).
**Multi-project isolation (PR #2007, merged into this branch)**
- `project_id` partition key on tasks / archived tasks / config,
`taskProjectScope` threaded through every scan/claim/count, per-project
config rows, layer bound to the project at startup.
- Review P1 follow-up: the shared cold-storage `archive.archived_tasks`
table is also partitioned and all archived-board reads/counts/searches
are scoped.
- Schema drift self-heal generalized to schema-qualified columns so
existing databases upgrade in place.
**Other changes**
- Node settings sync **removed** in PG mode (409
`settings-sync-disabled-postgres`) — nodes share state by connecting to
the same database; auth sync kept (per-machine file).
- Perf (review findings): `listTasks` pushes column filter + ORDER BY +
LIMIT/OFFSET into SQL; `getConversation` capped to the most recent 200
messages.
- Fixed a false "operator action required" pause-abort log fired on
every successfully auto-merged task.
**Live acceptance — PASSED (2026-07-12)**
A sandboxed instance (isolated HOME, embedded PG, real Opus executor)
ran a task through the complete cycle: create → triage (AI spec) →
execute → in-review → AI squash-merge landed on the project's `main` →
done. A write+read sweep of every data surface (settings, comments,
documents, attachments + artifact bridge + artifact edit, chat with real
generation, goals, missions, agent mail, secrets, workflows, memory, CC
analytics) was green on embedded PG.
**Known remaining work**
- The per-project `config` PK re-key has no upgrade path for
pre-isolation embedded-PG databases (needs a real `DROP
CONSTRAINT`/re-key migration; fresh databases are fine).
- `pg_dump`/`pg_restore` binaries are not yet bundled in release
artifacts (PATH/common-location discovery only).
- The satellite-store concurrency findings listed above.

Replace one-shot grok -p JSON with native grok agent stdio (ACP) for realtime
streaming, tool visibility, and multi-turn sessions. Vendor the ACP client
into fusion-plugin-grok-runtime, forward Fusion fn_* tools and operator MCP,
stage Fusion skills via --plugin-dir, authenticate per xAI headless docs, and
align project chat manager store resolution so Grok chat sessions can send.
Bumps the pi SDK dependencies to 0.80.6 across the CLI, dashboard, engine, and pi-claude-cli packages, and adapts the Claude CLI thinking-effort mapper for the new `max` ThinkingLevel.
- Bump @earendil-works/pi-ai and @earendil-works/pi-coding-agent from ^0.80.5 to ^0.80.6 in packages/cli, packages/dashboard, packages/engine, and packages/pi-claude-cli (dependency/peerDependency/devDependency entries)
- Regenerate pnpm-lock.yaml for the new SDK versions
- Map the new `max` ThinkingLevel in packages/pi-claude-cli/src/thinking-config.ts: non-Opus models downgrade to `high` (effort max unsupported), Opus models map to `max`
- Extend packages/pi-claude-cli/src/__tests__/thinking-config.test.ts with coverage for the `max` level
- Add .changeset/fn-7755-pi-sdk-bump.md (patch) documenting the SDK bump

Prototype and land a rebuilt-every-run esbuild bundle of the @fusion/core gate-safe barrel closure, collapsing the engine-core gate's per-fork Vite SSR import-phase cost (18 forks x ~430-file closure re-resolved from scratch) into a single file load per fork.
- Add scripts/build-engine-core-gate-bundle.mjs: esbuild-bundles packages/core/src/index.gate.ts (220 first-party files, packages:"external" so third-party/node: imports stay external, treeShaking:false to preserve side effects) into packages/core/.gate-bundle/core.mjs + core.meta.json
- Wire the builder into packages/engine/vitest.config.ts's engine-core project globalSetup (alongside the existing vitest-teardown hook) so the bundle is rebuilt fresh before every gate invocation, and repoint the @fusion/core resolve.alias at the bundled output instead of index.gate.ts source
- Place the bundle output at packages/core/.gate-bundle/ as a sibling of packages/core/node_modules/ (not nested inside it) to avoid Vite SSR's external-dep heuristic, which would otherwise silently defeat vi.mock interception for imports nested in the bundle
- Gitignore packages/core/.gate-bundle/ and add a matching ESLint ignore entry so the generated bundle text is never linted or committed
- Add esbuild ^0.25.12 as a root devDependency (pnpm-lock.yaml updated accordingly)
- Document the pre-bundling rationale, placement constraints, and measured A/B wall-time results in docs/testing.md
Verified: pnpm test:gate passes (335/335 engine-core tests, 63/63 CLI ci-shape tests), engine package typecheck clean, eslint clean on touched files.

The Windows desktop installer failed to package: electron-builder's production-dependency walk rejected
`@aws-sdk/core@3.974.26` because `@aws-sdk/credential-provider-env` (resolved in the `--legacy` deploy
closure) requires `^3.974.27`. Root cause: an incidental `pnpm.overrides` entry pinning
`@aws-sdk/core` to the exact version `3.974.26` (added without rationale in an unrelated commit) which
force-held core below what its consumers now demand — the classic stale-exact-pin trap.
Fixes / prevention:
- Remove the `@aws-sdk/core` override so the deploy closure resolves core to 3.974.27 (satisfies all
consumers). The main lockfile still resolves core to 3.974.26 for its own consistent graph, so the
published @runfusion/fusion closure is unchanged (no changeset needed). Verified locally: a fresh
`@fusion/desktop build` + `electron-builder --dir` now passes the dependency walk with no manual patch.
- Add an advisory, path-gated `Desktop packaging` job to pr-checks.yml that reproduces electron-builder's
production-dependency walk (`--dir`, no NSIS/signing) plus a `pnpm dedupe --check` early-warning. This
is the only check that validates the packageable closure, which previously ran only in release/manual
workflows — so any future dependency skew now fails at PR time, for ANY dependency, instead of at
release/local-build time. Kept OUT of the required set so the thin merge gate [Lint, Typecheck, Build,
Gate] and branch protection are untouched; promote to blocking by adding it to required checks.

- Regenerate pnpm-lock.yaml for the new electron@^33.4.11 CLI dependency so
--frozen-lockfile stops failing every PR-check job.
- Gate the GPU/sandbox-disabling Electron flags (--no-sandbox, --disable-gpu,
etc.) to Windows only via os.platform(); applying them on macOS/Linux was a
security and rendering regression. This also resolves the unused os import
that failed lint.
- Add FNXC comments for the Windows GPU flags, desktop user-data isolation, and
CLI dashboard-server reuse per project comment convention.

The Typecheck CI gate was failing because pi-claude-cli declared pi-ai and
pi-coding-agent as unpinned "*" peers. pi-ai 0.80 was published and, via
hoisting/non-frozen resolution, the bare `@earendil-works/pi-ai` import floated
to 0.80.3 — which moved the top-level `getModels` export to the deprecated
`/compat` shim ("has no exported member named 'getModels'").
Migrate forward to the latest, consistent with cli/engine which already pin
^0.80.3:
- Pin pi-ai and pi-coding-agent to ^0.80.3 (peer + dev) so the whole extension
resolves one pi-ai version; pinning pi-coding-agent too avoids the
AssistantMessageEventStream type skew that a pi-ai-only bump reintroduced.
- Import the canonical `getBuiltinModels` from
`@earendil-works/pi-ai/providers/all` (identical signature to the old
`getModels`; the top-level export is now the deprecated compat alias).
- Update the provider test mock to the new subpath.
Behavior-preserving: getBuiltinModels === getModels. Typecheck, the full
recursive typecheck, and all 347 pi-claude-cli tests pass.

MailboxMessageContent pipeline gains rehype-raw -> rehype-sanitize (GitHub-like allow list: details/summary/kbd/tables/etc; strips script/style/iframe/on*/javascript:) so raw HTML in markdown renders and HTML comments are dropped. Fenced ```mermaid blocks render via a lazy-loaded MermaidDiagram component (dynamic import keeps mermaid out of the main bundle; theme-aware; falls back to the raw block on parse error).

Android WebView returns 0 for env(safe-area-inset-top) by default, so the
CSS-only header inset had no effect on edge-to-edge devices (API 35+).
- Add @capacitor-community/safe-area@^7.0.0 (Capacitor 7 compatible); it
patches the webview so env(safe-area-inset-*) report real values. Enabled
natively (no JS init), so it works in remote/live mode too.
- capacitor.config.ts: declare SafeArea plugin (initialViewportFitCover).
- mobile-run-android.sh: idempotently enable EdgeToEdge in MainActivity after
cap add (android/ is generated/gitignored), required by the plugin.
Adds streamViaAcp: a drop-in alternative to streamViaCli that drives Claude
through the claude-code-cli-acp bridge over ACP instead of `claude -p`. Returns
the same AssistantMessageEventStream, so streamSimple dispatches to either
transport behind a kill-switch (FUSION_CLAUDE_ACP=1 + an injected bridge path),
OFF by default — the live `-p` path is byte-for-byte untouched until soak.
- Full-history prompt every turn (buildPrompt) — the ACP path has no --resume (R13).
- Forwards schema-only MCP servers so Claude emits correct tool calls; breaks
early on the first tool_call (cancel turn, surface to pi) so the bridge never
executes Fusion's tools — mirrors the `-p` break-early pattern.
- Translation reuses the tested createEventBridge by synthesizing Claude stream
events from ACP session/updates, sharing pi sequencing + tool-name mapping.
- Bridge env forwards only HOME/PATH so `claude` authenticates from the login
session (R17); never inherited process.env or API keys.
Verified: 3/3 translation unit tests; real-bridge session/update shapes confirmed
(agent_message_chunk text + tool_call); 326/326 existing pi-claude-cli tests green;
typecheck clean.
Remaining for Route A: engine injection of the bridge path (KTD10), U12 picker/
auth/status, U13 workflow verification.

Replaces the metadata/probe stub with a playwright-core driver (no bundled
browser download; uses a probe-discovered Chrome) exposing navigate/click/type/
observe + idempotent dispose. Browser-unavailable and un-exercisable assertions
return inconclusive (never a false pass/fail); a missing selector returns a
distinct 'absent' negative observation. Driver is a direct export scoped to the
verification run, not registered as a coding-agent tool.
Update @earendil-works/pi-coding-agent and @earendil-works/pi-ai from
^0.78.0 to ^0.79.1 across cli, engine, and dashboard. This brings in
Claude Fable 5 (claude-fable-5) on the Anthropic and Amazon Bedrock
providers.
Fusion's model picker is registry-driven (/api/models -> pi ModelRegistry,
filtered by provider, not model id), so Fable surfaces automatically for
users with Anthropic or Claude CLI auth configured — no Fusion-side model
list change needed.
Verified: all core packages typecheck clean against 0.79.1; boot smoke
(fn --help, /api/health 200, clean shutdown) passes.

Suspend-and-handoff passthrough from the Ink TUI to a cli-agent PTY session:
mint an attach ticket, open the cli-session WebSocket, enter the alternate
screen + raw mode, stream WS scrollback/data frames to stdout, frame stdin
bytes into input messages, propagate resizes, and ACK consumed bytes for flow
control. Detach chord Ctrl-] restores the terminal and remounts Ink; a dropped
WS surfaces the error and restores the terminal cleanly.
Untrusted terminal output is neutralized through the same hardening filter the
dashboard WS bridge uses (re-exported from @fusion/dashboard) so OSC 52, non-
http(s) OSC 8 links, and device-status queries are stripped before reaching the
host TTY — the riskiest leg, since the host terminal honors more sequences than
xterm.js. CJK/double-width bytes pass through verbatim.
- packages/cli/src/commands/dashboard-tui/terminal-attach.ts (passthrough loop +
injectable WS transport for tests)
- controller.openTerminalAttach() Ink integration (unmount/run/remount)
- adds `ws` runtime dep to packages/cli
- re-exports neutralizeTerminalOutput/flushTerminalOutput from @fusion/dashboard

The trial's pnpm add+remove cycle left peer-suffix entries inconsistent
(vitest@3.2.4 combo missing); local warm installs validated shallowly while
CI's fresh resolution failed every job. Re-resolved with no dependency
changes (package.json untouched).
Main independently landed the same pausedReason persistence fix (column in
the task INSERT/upsert, TaskRow type, rowToTask mapping) with the column
ordered between paused and userPaused; adopt main's ordering and drop this
branch's duplicate entries so the values array stays aligned. Union the
dashboard package.json deps (main's compound-engineering plugin alongside
this branch's sorted pi-coding-agent/cli-printing-press/cursor-runtime).

Add a React Flow (@xyflow/react) based WorkflowNodeEditor: a lazy-loaded modal
with a workflow list, a node palette (prompt/script/gate/merge-boundary),
drag-to-connect edges, a per-node inspector, and save with compile-validation
that surfaces non-linear graphs as a banner. Pure irToFlow/flowToIr mapping
round-trips the v1 IR plus editor layout. Reachable via a Graph editor button in
the Workflow Steps manager; mounted in AppModals behind a new modal-manager
flag. Adds a vendor-reactflow Vite chunk and a feature changeset.
New runtime plugin registering runtimeId 'acp', mirroring the
fusion-plugin-droid-runtime shape. Adds @agentclientprotocol/sdk@0.24.0
and an SDK smoke-import test that gates on the load-bearing exports
(ClientSideConnection, ndJsonStream, PROTOCOL_VERSION=1) so a breaking
SDK change surfaces at U1. Runtime adapter is a contract-conforming
skeleton (incl. describeModel); session driving lands in U2/U3.

Add a synchronous Node-side i18next instance built from the generated
@fusion/i18n CLI catalog map (no async backend, first frame localized), with
locale precedence --lang flag -> GlobalSettings.language -> env (LC_ALL/LANG/..)
-> en. Wrap the Ink DashboardApp render in <I18nextProvider> and thread a

Upgrade ink 6.8 -> 7.0 (native CJK double-width measurement) and raise the
