dist-freshness.test.ts reads the plugin's compiled dist/settings.js and
dist/session/orchestrator.js to guard against stale dist (FN-6596), but the
plugin had no pretest build and was missing from ensure-test-artifacts.mjs.
On a fresh CI checkout dist/ does not exist, so the guard threw "dist/ is
missing" — failing the non-blocking Full Suite on every main commit.
Register the plugin's required artifacts in ensure-test-artifacts.mjs and add
a `pretest` hook that builds them, matching the dependency-graph / hermes /
openclaw plugins. Verified locally: with dist/ absent, `pnpm --filter
@fusion-plugin-examples/compound-engineering test` now builds dist via the
pretest and all 192 plugin tests pass (incl. the two dist-freshness cases).

Every shard + the curated-guard job paid ~71s rebuilding 8 packages' dist
from scratch. actions/cache now restores dist on exact content-hash match
(--print-source-hash; branch-switch stable, pure git-based), with a
--seed-artifact-cache step on cache-hit that defeats the mtime trap
(restored dist looks older than checkout-time src mtimes). No restore-keys
partial fallback: stale dist is a known failure mode here. node_modules is
never cached (Windows junction policy). ensure-test-artifacts still runs as
the authority and rebuilds anything genuinely missing or changed.
- content-hash: createRepoContentSnapshot — 2 repo-wide git spawns shared across all hash computations (was ~2 spawns x N packages x 2 passes, ~0.6-1.6s per cache-miss run); snapshot-equivalence test pins zero-spawn path
- test-changed: one hash memo + snapshot shared between applyCacheToPlan and recordCachePass (record pass now re-hashes nothing)
- ci-test-shard: listPackageTestFiles single source of truth for the test-file glob (was triplicated)
- check-test-inventory: curatedProjects defaults to projects (removes duplicated 11-entry list in spec)
- ensure-test-artifacts: drop detectMissingArtifacts passthrough alias
- drop dead statSync re-export; cross-reference comments on the two shared-input path lists
Skipped deliberately: --cold-start-probe/--check-timings-staleness removal (plan artifacts for U8 re-eval + scheduled refresh), best-fit dedup + threshold² (behavior-preserving refactor of verified shard math — follow-up), worker-budget duplication (pre-existing on main)
@fusion/desktop tests dynamically import('@fusion/dashboard') in
local-runtime.ts. When packages/dashboard/dist/index.js is absent
(fresh checkout, merger verification env, CI without an explicit
dashboard build) Vite fails with 'Failed to resolve entry for package
@fusion/dashboard' before the desktop vitest alias takes effect.
scripts/ensure-test-artifacts.mjs is the canonical bootstrap layer
that pnpm test calls before running suites; register @fusion/dashboard
there so the dist is built on demand. Extends node:test coverage
mirroring the hermes/openclaw patterns.
Unblocks: FN-3789, FN-3793, FN-3795, FN-3803 (and any future task
whose merger verification path runs desktop tests).
Adds test coverage for incomplete runtime dist trees in the test-artifacts script, with one new test file and a small fix to the script itself.
